We had 16 nights in Fiji – 5 nights Lautoka, 5 nights Mana Island, 2 nights Suva, 3 nights Coral Coast & 1 night Nadi (in order to take an early morning flight)

HOME BASE: Western Australia
TRAVEL STYLE: Independent / Family Travel / Adventure
FAVOURITE DESTINATION: Fiji
Snorkelling and kayaking on Mana Island was amazing.
Visiting Suva, and especially Suva market
Trekking to a waterfall.
We were disappointed by the Resort style food at most of the hotels in Fiji. It was very “Western”.
However, we did have a couple of excellent Indian and Fijian dishes (that seemed authentically prepared) at First Landing Resort (read Ariana’s complete resort review here).
This is a place where you can be transported to a luxury paradise and forget the cares of the world.
For mid range independent travellers it is harder to get out and experience the country.

BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
Peak season in Fiji is from May-September. October-March is their wet season, which is hot and humid but not actually that wet.
